John Carrington is a Savannah, Ga. based freelance photographer specializing in corporate and private event coverage, weddings, portraiture, commercial, editorial, architecture, aerial, product, food, and photojournalism. A native of East Tennessee, John graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design. For the following twenty years John worked as staff photographer at Savannah Morning News where he received numerous awards and contributed to many other publications including two cookbooks by food historian Damon Lee Fowler. As a photojournalist working in the home of the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division and the Georgia Air National Guard 165th Airlift Wing, John had the privilege of covering local troops on deployments to Panama, Bosnia, Afghanistan and as an embedded photographer during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
